Original Watercolor Painting of Saint Louis Bridge in Menton France Vintage Art (1944)

We are pleased to offer a selection of vintage art sourced by our founders Don and John during their travels.  Here, an original well-executed watercolor painting on paper by John T. Hodgkinson.  The painting features a landscape with the Saint Louis Bridge in Menton, France.  According to text on the back, the artist chose to paint a place "Ernest went to during the war 1918".... we're guessing Ernest Hemingway who was an ambulance driver in the South of France during WWI.  

Paint on paper under glass in wood frame.  Signed: "Oct 7, 44 / JTH" on the lower front right corner with additional text and signature on the back (see detail photo).  Frame measures about 16.75"h x 12.75"w. Image measures about 12.75"h x 8.5"w. 

Please note: This is a one-of-a-kind, unique piece and it is FINAL SALE so review all photos and please email with any questions before purchasing.  This original work of art & frame will have small imperfections due to its age but we think this adds to the vintage charm.  This work on paper has some deterioration on the center bottom border.
