Here, a beautifully detailed engraving printed and hand-colored in France of a Tradescantie (spiderwort) Flower and two Trachyderes (beetles). This original engraving is from a series of books published in 1834 called: Dictionnaire Pittoresque d'Histoire Naturelle et des Phenomenes de la Nature (Picture Dictionary of Natural History and Phenomena of Nature).
Original hand-colored French engraving on paper under glass in a gold tone vintage frame. Frame measures about 11.5"h x 8.25"w. Image measures about 10.25"h x 7.25"w. Sold individually.
