We are pleased to offer a selection of vintage art sourced by our founders Don and John during their travels. Here, a beautifully detailed engraving printed and hand-colored in France showing two fantastic renderings of squids in a seascape with some additional insects and critters at the top. This original engraving is from a series of books published in 1834 called: Dictionnaire Pittoresque d'Histoire Naturelle et des Phenomenes de la Nature (Picture Dictionary of Natural History and Phenomena of Nature). The frame is vintage.
Original hand-colored French engraving on paper under glass in a vintage wood frame. Frame measures about 10"h x 7.75"w. Image measures about 8.75"h x 6.75"w.
