This original engraving is from a series of books published in 1834 called: Dictionnaire Pittoresque d'Histoire Naturelle et des Phenomenes de la Nature (Picture Dictionary of Natural History and Phenomena of Nature).
Original hand-colored French engraving on paper under glass in a silver leaf frame made in Italy. Frame measures about 6"h x 6"w. Image measures about 4.5"h x 4.5"w.
